When I said I wanted to visit every one of North
Carolina's 100 counties, talking to the citizens of this great state and finding
out what they wanted in a governor, I was told that was not the way to run a
statewide campaign. I was told it couldn't be done, but I decided that was the
only way I would run for governor. With the help of incredible supporters all
over the state, we accomplished something most said was impossible. Although we
fell short in the end, I wouldn't do it any other way. Thank you, every one,
for the amazing work you have done over the past year. I have had confirmed
what I always knew -- that the most valuable resource of the state is her
hardworking, God fearing, family oriented people. I appreciate all your time
and effort on behalf of the campaign. Please stay involved in the process
because working together we really can make a difference in the lives of the
people of North Carolina. I have pledged my full support to Pat McCrory to do whatever is in my power to help elect a Republican governor in November to change the culture in Raleigh and fix our broken government.
