From the Campaign Trail - Rutherford County
After an incredibly successful BBQ lunch in Polk County we headed to
Rutherford County to attend a reception hosted by Mike Hager &
Phillip and Sheila Byers at The Highlands of Lake Lure.
After the reception we went to Mooresboro for the Rutherford County BBQ. The BBQ was held at the Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy, which is a charter school with over 800 students. The Rutherford County BBQ crowd exceeded expectations with around 150. The BBQ team again performed incredibly accomodating a group that was about 30% larger than expected. In attendance at the BBQ were Wes Westmoreland of Shelby, CCGOP Chair Wayne King, Commissioner Dr. Jerry Self of Cleveland County, Commissioners Paul McIntosh and Chuck Hill of Rutherford County, RCGOP Chair Mike Hager, Representatives Debbie Clary and Tim Moore, Carolyn Keever of the Rutherford County BOE and Forest City Commissioner D.B. Griffin. The crowd included many families with children and was enthusiastic and energized. The Rutherford County BBQ was a great ending to a very successful day for the Fred Smith campaign.
