We had a great day in Cabarrus County. I met
Senator Eddie Goodall at Union Grill and we joined Clerk of Court Fred Biggers and others for lunch. Following lunch
I toured Snyder Packaging, where I met with David Snyder and employees of the
company. In the afternoon I spoke with Allen Tate Realty, and
later with another group of local business people. Both groups had some great
questions, which I was happy to answer. The barbeque started at 6:30.
Representative Linda Johnson and David Black, Chairman of the 8th Congressional
District, gave me a good introduction and expressed their support. Also at the
barbeque was Chris Carten, chairman of the Republican party in Cabarrus
County. We were happy to see close to 200 people at the barbeque and the level
of excitement was high. As we travel the state, we can feel the momentum for
the campaign building.
It has been a busy week already, but we are not
headed home yet. Tomorrow we will be in Jackson County, then the following day
we will visit both Polk and Rutherford counties, and then on Saturday we will be
in Stanley and Montgomery counties. The people we are meeting are enthusiastic
about the campaign and are eager to join the team, which is a very good thing
because it will take all of us together to win.
